Gilbert attorneys teamed up with Legal Aid to provide advice to tenants whose landlord refused to conduct needed apartment repairs and has filed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Gilbert attorneys lent their expertise to the tenants by providing advocacy during the Chapter 11 plan confirmation process, particularly related to preserving tenants’ rights to continued possession of their apartments after lease rejections and sales of the apartment properties. Gilbert and Legal Aid have also assisted tenants with filing and defending proofs of claim in the bankruptcy.
