Amber Hammond represents corporate and individual clients in complex civil litigation, with a focus on insurance coverage disputes and other commercial litigation, including matters involving mass torts, product liability, and antitrust.
Her practice includes representing clients in insurance coverage matters arising from bankruptcy proceedings, including disputes with insurers over coverage obligations. She also represents plaintiffs in complex healthcare reimbursement disputes. She maintains an active pro bono practice, including serving as appointed pro bono counsel to a client in the D.C. federal court.
Prior to joining Gilbert, Amber served as a law clerk in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. She then practiced in the São Paulo, Brazil office of a global law firm, where she worked on cross-border litigation and investigations involving allegations of fraud and misconduct. She later worked in a white collar and investigations practice of another prominent law firm in Washington, D.C.
