Kiera Welcome joined Gilbert in 2026. She represents healthcare providers in reimbursement disputes with commercial insurers and in complex civil litigation. Her practice focuses on recovering unpaid and underpaid claims, challenging improper recoupments, and defending providers against prepayment reviews and overpayment allegations.

Kiera advises mental health and substance use disorder treatment providers in disputes involving ERISA‑governed plans, anti‑assignment provisions, prompt‑payment statutes, coordination‑of‑benefits conflicts, and multi‑state insurance regulatory frameworks.

Before joining Gilbert, Kiera practiced at a Washington, D.C. law firm, where she worked on similar healthcare issues. Earlier in her career, she served as a health insurance claims auditor for major payors, developing a strategic and detail‑oriented approach to high‑volume claims analysis and insurer enforcement practices.

She also maintains an active pro bono practice.

Kiera received her law degree from Widener Delaware Law in 2024.
