Patrick Holkins Of Counsel

Patrick Holkins joined Gilbert in 2024. He represents major companies, creditors’ committees, and others in civil litigation and bankruptcy proceedings. He has extensive first-chair experience in complex litigation under a range of federal statutes and in jurisdictions across the country. Patrick has led multi-year pre-litigation investigations, litigated cases from inception through trial, and negotiated high-profile settlements.

Prior to joining Gilbert, Patrick was a trial attorney in the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, where his work led to groundbreaking decisions and Court-ordered remedies. He clerked for the Honorable A. John Pelander (Ret.) of the Arizona Supreme Court.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS

  • Representing post-bankruptcy trust in litigation seeking over $200 million in insurance assets for distribution to victims of nationwide opioid crisis and other personal injury claimants.
  • Representing the official committee of tort claimants and future claims representative in Chapter 11 bankruptcy and adversary proceedings to recover insurance proceeds for the benefit of personal injury claimants.
  • Assisting a Fortune 500 company in securing insurance coverage for third-party patent infringement claims.
  • Representing a consumer products manufacturer in litigation to recover nearly $75 million in insurance proceeds.
