Speare Hodges joined Gilbert in 2025, where he represents major companies, creditors’ committees, and others in complex litigation and bankruptcy proceedings. He has extensive experience handling high-stakes matters under civil and criminal statutes in federal courts across the country.
Prior to joining Gilbert, Speare spent almost a decade in the federal government handling criminal and civil prosecutions in the Department of Justice’s Consumer Protection Branch and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Office of Enforcement. He has led major investigations, examined numerous witnesses in depositions and before grand juries, and briefed and argued many dispositive motions. He has also secured favorable outcomes in multiple jury trials, dispositive motions, and evidentiary hearings. He is a proud Returned Peace Corps Volunteer – Perú.
