Yifan Liu joined Gilbert in 2023.  She works with Gilbert attorneys who represent corporate and individual clients in complex civil litigation and insurance recovery matters.  Prior to joining Gilbert LLP, Yifan worked as a judicial fellow for the Honorable Laura A. Cordero on the DC Superior Court.

Yifan received her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center where she served on the Georgetown Journal of International Law.  Prior to attending law school, Yifan worked at an international organization.  She also earned her Master of Arts degree in International Affairs from the George Washington University.

• Assisting in representing the official committee of tort claimants and future claims representative in Chapter 11 bankruptcy and adversary proceedings to recover insurance proceeds for the benefit of personal injury claimants.
• Assisting in representing a Fortune 500 company in the automotive sector in litigation that has resulted in the payment of hundreds of millions of dollars in insurance proceeds to compensate claims arising out of alleged exposure to asbestos.
• Assisting in civil litigation in federal court asserting Bivens claims under Fourth Amendment.
