Gilbert Attorneys Work On-Site To Help Rebuild Kentucky Park Battered By Winter Tornadoes

Gilbert LLP, a Washington, D.C. law firm that specializes in complex dispute resolution, recently joined the residents and leaders of Mayfield, Kentucky to help restore their community following this winter’s deadly tornadoes.

Shortly after the tornadoes struck, Gilbert partnered with Mayfield and Disaster Relief at Work (DRAW) to assist in recovery efforts for this city of 10,000.  In addition to making a significant financial contribution, Gilbert attorneys travelled to Mayfield to work with local residents and DRAW volunteers to rebuild a heavily damaged local park.

“It was an honor to be able to help a community that suffered so much,” said Craig Litherland, Gilbert’s Chief Executive Officer.  “The financial contribution we made became more meaningful as we spent time with Mayfield residents doing the landscaping to restore the park.”

On May 12, with Gilbert attorneys present, Mayfield held a rededication ceremony to once again make the park a vibrant community resource.

A key tenant of Gilbert’s philosophy is to “give back.”  All Gilbert lawyers and employees engage in public service work, including community initiatives, educational and charitable activities, and pro bono legal work.
