Gilbert Helps Secure Parole for Pro Bono Client

On December 4, 2019, a Gilbert LLP client was granted parole by the U.S. Parole Commission after serving 22 years for manslaughter. The client, who had unsuccessfully sought parole three separate times since 2010, was assisted pro bono by Gilbert attorney Jasmine Chalashtori in this successful effort. He is slated to be released from prison in 2020 and is thrilled at the prospect of being reunited with his family.

The case was referred to Gilbert by the Washington Lawyers’ Committee, with whom Gilbert lawyers have previously worked on pro bono matters.

A key tenet of Gilbert’s philosophy is to give back to its communities. All lawyers and other employees at Gilbert engage in public service activity, including substantial pro bono legal work. Gilbert encourages its attorneys to seek pro bono work, and makes the firm widely available to individuals and organizations who need expert legal assistance.

Gilbert LLP is a Washington-based law firm specializing in litigation and strategic risk management, insurance recovery and complex dispute resolution.
