Ifenanya Agwu Associate

Ifenanya “Ife” Agwu joined Gilbert in 2021. Ife works with Gilbert attorneys on a range of complex civil litigation matters involving corporate and individual clients. Immediately prior to joining Gilbert LLP, Ife worked as a law clerk at a leading business law firm in Maryland.

Ife received her law degree from the Howard University School of Law. She was a Henry Ramsey Writing Center Dean’s Fellow and Coordinator for the Thurgood Marshall Academy Mentoring program. She also completed the Reentry Clinic where she represented clients seeking to expunge their criminal records in D.C. While in law school, Ife also served as a clerk for a prominent civil rights attorney in D.C.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS

  • Assisting in representing the official committee of tort claimants and future claims representative in Chapter 11 bankruptcy and adversary proceedings to recover insurance proceeds for the benefit of personal injury claimants.
  • Assisting in representing state and tribal entities in ongoing efforts to hold pharmaceutical companies liable for the damage they caused in the opioid epidemic.
  • Assisting in securing funds for individuals who endured torture at the hands of foreign governments.
