Gilbert LLP Announces New Subsidiary, Tesseract Data Services

Tesseract Provides High-End E-Discovery and Other Legal Tech Services to Gilbert Clients and Legal Community

Gilbert LLP, a Washington, D.C. firm specializing in complex dispute resolution, announced today its creation of Tesseract Data Services (TDS), a legal technology subsidiary that will provide a full range of the highest caliber legal technology and advisory services, meeting clients’ needs to comply with regulatory and litigation-related demands while proactively addressing compliance, investigative, and crisis-management issues.

Gilbert, building on its robust internal e-discovery practice, determined that both the demands and opportunities facing their clients required a strategic and comprehensive approach to the landscape of legal technology services.

Todd Itami has been named TDS’ President.  Todd has been described as “a world leader in the application of technical e-Discovery skills,” and has led e-discovery efforts and solved legal problems on cases of all sizes.  He has extensive experience advising top global companies in the field of e-Discovery in a wide range of litigation and investigation matters, including insurance recovery, antitrust, patent, products liability, white collar, and other complex commercial disputes.  Todd also serves as a Gilbert partner.

Beth Koehler will serve as TDS’ Chief Revenue Officer.  Beth has more than 20 years’ experience at both AmLaw 100 firms and e-Discovery vendors.  She regularly advises clients regarding litigation readiness, data migrations, security, mobile devices, emerging data problems, FRCP best practices, TAR workflows, and managed review.  Beth also serves as Of Counsel at Gilbert.

Sam Shirzadi is TDS’ Chief Technical Officer.  He has over two decades of experience in the litigation support industry.  Prior to joining TDS, Sam was a managing director at an industry-leading e-discovery vendor.

Gilbert will partner with TDS to offer clients sophisticated problem-solving at the intersection of law and technology.  Gilbert created TDS with a strategic vision of the long-term challenges of managing information in a legal context, a vision that is already streamlining workflows, producing results, and saving money for its clients.

TDS will also serve clients independently, developing and providing custom legal technology solutions across the rapidly growing landscape of data requirements and vulnerabilities.
